I upgraded my system today, and texlive has been upgraded from 2012 to 2013. Apparently there is a problem with the package that install the libertine font
Sorry, I hit the enter key too fast. So here is the description : The package dev-texlive/texlive-fontsextra has been upgraded on my system today to the 2013 version, and since I can't compile any tex document using the libertine font such as \documentclass[10pt]{article} \usepackage[T1]{fontenc} \usepackage[utf8]{inputenc} \usepackage{libertine} \begin{document} This is a test. \end{document} I get the following error kpathsea: Running mktexpk --mfmode / --bdpi 600 --mag 1+0/600 --dpi 600 LinLibertineT-tlf-t1--base mktexpk: don't know how to create bitmap font for LinLibertineT-tlf-t1--base. mktexpk: perhaps LinLibertineT-tlf-t1--base is missing from the map file. kpathsea: Appending font creation commands to missfont.log. Appenrently, from what I found on the web it might be a problem with the ebuild not running updmap-sys correctly.
please attach the .log file you get when processing this file; here it works fine

Additional comment : I had downgraded back to the 2012 release (I'm writing my PhD thesis and my deadline are kind of short), and it was working fine again. After I upgraded back to the 2013 release it's crashing again.
please try with texlive-core-2013-r1. I believe this should fix your problem but I am not 100% sure.
And I'm 100% sure that it does solve the problem :) Thanks !
