I can confirm this happening on amd64 stable, hardened profile. Removing courier-imap resolved the problem, but clearly that's not optimal. :)
I just renamed maildirmake to courier-maildirmake in courier-imap-4.17.3. Let's see how that plays out -- maybe it resolves the issue, or maybe its users will yell at me.
I am one of the users to yell at you ;-) I now have no maildirmake binary left in my system having only courier-imap. This was a problem because I had a maildroprc that expects maildirmake to automatically create new maildirs if the user locally exists. I have renamed maildirmake to courier-maildirmake in my maildroprc and now it works. I am not really sure how common this is as I am the only one complaining. Nevertheless, a warning after courier-imap upgrade would have been nice.
(In reply to atx from comment #4) > Nevertheless, a warning after courier-imap upgrade would have been nice. Sorry, I forgot to reply to this. Normally it would have been easy to add a message in the postinst phase that is only shown to upgraders: "warning, the maildirmake binary has been renamed to courier-maildirmake" or something like that. But shortly after I committed the new version (and before you brought it up), the arches began marking the new version stable. Which now means two things: * I can't touch the ebuild. * Anyone who was going to be bit by this during an upgrade (i.e. stable users) has already been bit by it. At this point, I could do a new revision with the warning, but it would only affect ~arch users who ran into the problem months ago. Thus the cat has probably flown on this one.
