Two things. First, the compilation fails. More importantly, inspite of telling emerge to upgrade, it tries to _downgrade_: # emerge -Upv gimp-print >>> --upgradeonly implies --update... adding --update to options. These are the packages that I would merge, in order: Calculating dependencies ...done! gimp-print-4.2.5 will fail if you have installed 5.0.0_alpha. you have to remove 5.0.0_alpha first and install 4.2.5 then.
I did so and yet it fails to build with same errors (notice I have both gimp-1.2 and 2.0 installed).
what about gimp-print-4.2.6 ?
Thanks, 4.2.6 compiles fine. BTW, why it (and other gimp plugins) install for 1.2 and not for the newer 2.0 (or better yet, for both)?
because the plugins don't work with gimp-2.0
