cat /proc/asound/card0/codec#0

There is no working sound on hp 7900 minitower. Looks like the appropriate driver is snd_hda_intel, but it does not work. There are options for snd_hda_intel (to specify in /etc/modprobe.d/alsa.conf, like options snd-hda-intel model=desktop), but no one worked to get the sound working.

1) Please post your lspci output in a comment.
2) Please attach your kernel's .config to this bug report.
3) Does `dmesg' say anything interesting about the sound card?

Try with latest kernel, like 3.15 and ALSA 1.0.28

Reopen the bug after you've tested with up-to-date packages (as in, set the bug back to UNCONFIRMED)
