I also have this problem, and can test potential fixes. openssh-6.2_p2-r4 (on the server) does not work with the sftp kioslave (on the client). Downgrading the server to openssh-6.2_p2-r3 results in a working connection. I have similar problem with openssh-6.2_p2-r4
This version works fine on my x86 & amd64 machines, but I have an armv5te (fixed-point) embedded device that it refuses to allow ssh access saying something like PACKET CORRUPTED. Sorry for the lack of detail, but quite the dog & pony show to get my device back on line after that, I've looked in the logs and there is nothing to give you. To make a long story short I can chroot in and downgrade to the -p3 version and all is fine again. An admittedly lame "me too"
It seems that the hpn USE-Flag of net-misc/openssh-6.2_p2-r4 is responsible for this behavior. Emerging net-misc/openssh-6.2_p2-r4 without hpn results in a working sftp-connection (via dolphin). Setting "HPNDisabled yes" in /etc/ssh/sshd_config doesn't work.
In bug #482548, there is some suggestion that there are some issues with hpn and libssh, which is fixed in a later version. When bug #488486 is resolved, we can test again.
Nothing new here. After emerging net-libs/libssh-0.6.0_rc1 the problem persists. It works with net-misc/openssh -hpn, but fails with net-misc/openssh +hpn.
Does this still occur with openssh-6.3* and the new hpn patch?
Should be fixed, possibly since the ECDSA was made working - =kde-base/kdesdk-kioslaves-4.11.3 - =net-misc/openssh-6.3_p1-r1
