This is the result of starting the service installed in /etc/init.d:

localhost ~ # /etc/init.d/xboxdrv start
 * Starting xboxdrv ...                                                                                                                                                                                        [ ok ]
localhost ~ # [ERROR] XboxdrvDaemon::run(): fatal exception: failed to get unique dbus name: Connection ":1.64" is not allowed to own the service "org.seul.Xboxdrv" due to security policies in the configuration file

localhost ~ # /etc/init.d/xboxdrv stop
 * Stopping xboxdrv ...
 * start-stop-daemon: no matching processes found

Starting it manually works:

localhost ~ # xboxdrv

Same output here with default config.
Workaround: add --dbus disabled to XBOXDRV_OPTS in /etc/conf.d/xboxdrv

The ebuild and config file I attached will resolve the issue. DBus by default does not allow processes to change ownership, which xboxdrv tries to do.

I'm used similar dbus configuration for 2 years without issues. Only difference is doctype:
