Description Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2013-08-11 12:43:57 UTC
I have just noticed I forgot to bump this meta package for 3.8 cycle... but I don't see it useful at all (at least for gnome 3.8). Maybe we should stop bumping it and drop it in the future (depclean will drop it currently if people don't have it in their world file)

++
because this is subset of gnome-base/gnome-extra-apps
Comment 2 Mart Raudsepp gentoo-dev 2013-11-20 09:48:21 UTC
I'm in favor of KEEPING gnome-utils as a meta.

What are their advantages? Packages inside the old "gnome-utils" packages are a bit unrelated :/
Comment 4 Mart Raudsepp gentoo-dev 2013-11-22 10:51:01 UTC
They are utilities :D
But mainly people have wanted more fine-grained metas, so it's a logical place to keep this going (together with gnome-games) somewhat, combined with historical familiarity to the existance of such a package name. I guess I'm actually more interested in a gnome-games meta being kept though than this one.
