Created attachment 355650 [details, diff] Patch to correct the bug I've created a patch that fixes this bug. Upstream has created a "DEBIAN_PACKAGE" flag that performs several tasks that are useful when the program is installed via the package manager. Ideally upstream would have separated these out, however it does appear that all of the documented effects are beneficial to the installation via portage. I've tested this patch in my local portage overlay.
Which version of PlayOnLinux is affected, all of them?
On investigation, the DEBIAN_PACKAGE flag was added in this commit: https://github.com/PlayOnLinux/POL-POM-4/commit/362c5f7a899d3de10a68e5461404cca1913ec3fe This would mean that this fix applies to versions 4.1.2 and above. However, on further investigation, it appears that the changes to the mscorefonts installation is strictly a Debian change. I've submitted a bug upstream for a flag that can single out the update notification: http://www.playonlinux.com/en/issue-2882.html
