Description Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2013-08-06 07:43:20 UTC
I have run:
fbgrab /tmp/1.png

and, as you can see in attached screenshot, it's corrupted

I am using intel framebuffer

correction for previos post
kernel compiled with DRM_I915 module set
dmesg has:
fbcon: inteldrmfb (fb0) is primary device

I have added fbgrab-1.1 to the tree. Please try reproduce this bug with this version, and reopen if you still see a problem.
Comment 7 Georgy Kovtunov 2013-08-24 09:54:56 UTC
(In reply to Mikle Kolyada from comment #6)

problem still presents in 1.1 with inteldrmfb (
Comment 8 Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2013-08-24 10:21:09 UTC
It's probably an upstream problem:
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=113998

Looks like only fbdump works :/
Comment 9 Mikle Kolyada (RETIRED) archtester Gentoo Infrastructure gentoo-dev Security 2013-10-06 17:21:42 UTC
I sent email about this bug to upstream developer(s).
Comment 10 Mikle Kolyada (RETIRED) archtester Gentoo Infrastructure gentoo-dev Security 2013-12-17 19:11:00 UTC
I still has no correct response from upstream. But i have added version 1.2 to the tree. Try test it again, because i have no this hardware configuration, and reopen if bug still alive.
Comment 11 Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2013-12-17 20:16:29 UTC
Still the same :(
Comment 12 Mikle Kolyada (RETIRED) archtester Gentoo Infrastructure gentoo-dev Security 2015-07-05 17:56:58 UTC
Check again, upstream promised the fix time ago (i had added new version again),

With 1.3 I only see a transparent image :(
Comment 14 Steve Arnold archtester gentoo-dev 2018-04-03 03:16:21 UTC
Depending on the -b option (the default is 32) I either get transparent nothing (32) or corrupted images with pieces of the actual display. No other options to try, still a bug...
Comment 15 Sergey Popov gentoo-dev 2021-07-26 11:40:03 UTC
Upstream has added workaround option(-a) to ignore alpha channel settings, that are bugged in some drivers. It fixes issue for me, so i have just pushed version 1.5 of fbgrab to ~arch
