Description Samuli Suominen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2013-08-05 13:27:56 UTC
Do you agree with stabilizing jimtcl? If you do, please CC all three of 'amd64 arm x86'

I need it for stabilizing new version of sys-apps/usb_modeswitch which can optionally make use of jimtcl.

I was hoping a reply from maintainer, but this is first stabilization so there is no risk of introducing a regression, therefore CC amd64, arm, x86 for bug 480710
Comment 2 Samuli Suominen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2013-08-13 09:34:24 UTC
Upstream not defining version for the shared library (ie. SONAME) is not an blocker for stabilization. It's either left out in purpose by upstream, or patch should be provided for them to do eg. basic .so.0.0.0 -- in any case, the only problem that would cause is the lack of preserved-libs triggering when the ABI changes, which can be worked around by subslotting if required.

Thus, removed bug 480858 from blockers.
