You will find a 13.8_beta ebuild in the x11 overlay already. But it is masked due to some breakage. If you find that it works for you we can add it to portage.
At least xorg crashes on driver load (for me) and some people report heavy memory leak on some games (apparently native games from steam). If you do test, please report kernel and xorg-server versions.
There is a bad memory leak for me even without any games. Added one further patch and removed mask on x11 overlay...
