The handbook says to verify the checksums for the installation media with sha1sum, but the .DIGEST file contains sha256 sums.

This leads to sha1sum telling the user that no properly formatted SHA1 checksum lines was found.

Seems to be sha512 now even. I'll document sha512 but also mention to check the digest file itself to see what the supported hashing algorithms are.

Thanks for reporting, this is now fixed in CVS and should show up in an hour or so online.
