this is not only a beta, but masked in package.mask right now, only blackdown's 64bit jdk is stable on amd64. please install this if you're in need of a stable development environment. it's not 1.5, but it works. i dont think that there's anything we can do about a bug in sun's beta jdk. re-open this bug if you think otherwise and can better explain what you want us to do.
