Description Raymond Jennings 2013-07-16 10:49:59 UTC
Almost every command in lvm2 reports "512 bytes" as "512 EB" which is ridiculous.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a vg with 512 byte extents
2. Create an LV one extent long
3. Run vgdisplay or lvdisplay
Actual Results:
512bytes

Expected Results:
512 EB

sys-fs/lvm2-2.02.97-r1 was built with the following:
USE="lvm1 readline thin udev (-clvm) (-cman) (-selinux) -static -static-libs"
Comment 3 Raymond Jennings 2013-07-17 02:23:34 UTC
It's not just vg size. It's also lv size, extent size, error messages about those, etc.

It seems to be a pervasive aspect of size reporting in gneeral.
Comment 4 Alasdair Kergon 2013-07-18 15:20:40 UTC
Easily reproduced:) (Comment 0 has actual/expected results swapped)
Comment 6 Raymond Jennings 2013-07-19 04:19:59 UTC
It works.

There's a patch conflict in the WHATS_NEW file you want to be careful of before applying it to gentoo versions but this fixed the bug.

By all means, merge it to master and cook up some stable patches.

Closing this bug because the patch is in 2.02.99 and 2.02.100 which are both in Portage.
