Description Alexandr Dudnyk 2013-07-13 19:45:11 UTC
KDE has ceased to define the plug drives after updating the system.
I found this error in .xsession-errors and in Dopphin output : Failed enumerating UDisks2 objects: «org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.Spawn.ChildExited» «Launch helper exited with unknown return code 127»
When I install dev-qt/qtcore-4.8.4-r4 all ye again start working.

Reproducible: Always
Comment 1 Tom Wijsman (TomWij) (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2013-07-13 20:08:56 UTC
Which version of sys-fs/udisks are you using?

Sounds like an incompatibility between UDisks2 and QtCore; since the error comes from UDisks2, debugging that part should reveal whether the actual problem lies in UDisks2 or QtCore. If it shows to a problem with QtCore, reassign to qt@g.o.

I had the same problem, but now it is fixed. Possible causes:

* updating to udev-204
* rebuilding udisks:1 against latest udev

hard to say from KDE specific error like that what is going on, reassigning to kde@ as they are likely more capable of telling what should be checked for dolphin, or howto get more meaningful debug info before making assumptions this is an actual sys-fs/udisks:2 bug

Is this still happening with latest KDE? If so, can you try with glib-2.38.2-r1?
