Description Sergey Popov gentoo-dev 2013-07-13 13:46:19 UTC
New version of dynamips(community edition) is out. It is needed for net-misc/gns3 bump, see bug #476700.

Please, bump it in tree, thanks

app-emulation/dynamips-0.2.8 ebuild

ebuild has been updated to support app-emulation/dynamips-0.2.8. ebuild has been updated to EAPI=5 and also removed unneeded || die and changed doc locations. One major change is removing all Makefile patches as upstream has corrected the previous issues.

dynamips-0.2.8.tar.bz2 to support ebuild

upstream does not provide a Linux based package such as .tar.gz or .tar.bz2. This is rolled from their .zip format and can be mirrored on Gentoo servers.

Err, sorry, no proxy-maintainers listed here; B-Man pinged me but I didn't look at the CC list. Will you commit or can I proceed?
Comment 4 Tony Vroon (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2013-07-14 14:04:41 UTC
Using a .tar.bz2 instead of a .zip seems unnecessary unless the upstream zip is broken in some way (autogenerated in a way that breaks digest). You should probably clarify that with Aaron. If there is a good reason, or you mutually agree you can go ahead with the .zip, I have no objection for Tom committing this. Obviously with the caveat that if it breaks anything, you will be involved in fixing it up.

I have just checked and found no problems in upstream zip archive. So, i think we should just point on it in SRC_URI and add app-arch/unzip in DEPEND, as we do usually.

Tom informed me I didn't need to make the .tar.bz2 and could use the .zip. I will fix the ebuild and update it.
