Description Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2013-07-08 18:13:46 UTC
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Systemd#Supplementary_information

suggests to not add people to groups like audio or video and let systemd handle all, no idea if it's also recommended in Gentoo :|, in that case, that should be suggested in http://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Systemd

Thanks a lot!

Reproducible: Always

Their explanation is short on details; it says the audio group may break things but does not mention any specific bug reports. I'm guessing it assumes a GNOME/Pulseaudio setup.

It might be a good idea to mention that systemd will automatically handle granting permission on many devices to local users, similar to consolekit.

Looks like it doesn't cause any problems for me. I guess we should maybe only note that plugdev group is not needed (not sure if that is the case as I still use that group :/)
