I have installed my gentoo box this weekend but I can't get the mouse to work properly. 
The mouse position gets updated at long intervals (~0.5s) and it is quite annoying. I have the same problem with gpm and withing the X display. 
The comman line I use for gpm is : gpm -t imps2 -m /dev/psaux
I am running kernel 2.6.4

Now the thing works perfectly. I changed nothing but it works. I guess it was the KVM switch that didnt do its job  :/
