Comment 3 Donnie Berkholz (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-04-11 23:03:23 UTC
Did you forget to update your config files to /usr/share/fonts? /etc/X11/xorg.conf, /etc/fonts/fonts.conf, /etc/fonts/local.conf
Comment 4 lil 2004-04-12 06:59:22 UTC
k i reemerged xorg-x11 and when it was done i had to etc-update /etc/X11/app-defaults/XTerm , but emacs has the same problem ,
the only thing i can think of is reeemrge emacs-cvs
Comment 5 lil 2004-04-12 08:12:16 UTC
i guess u could close this bug , i had to add some FontPaths and load some extra modules , took'em off one of ur developers configs :))
Comment 6 Matthew Kennedy (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-05-12 00:20:17 UTC
bug seems to no longer apply
Comment 7 Artem Baguinski 2004-09-12 05:01:36 UTC
Hi

i have other emacs-cvs vs xorg-x11 problem and since this but comes up when searching for "ALL emacs xorg-x11" i'll just append. After upgrading xorg-x11 to 6.8 emacs[-cvs] doesn't recognize windows key as Meta anymore. If i fire xev i see:

KeyPress event, serial 29, synthetic NO, window 0x2a00001,
    root 0xb0, subw 0x0, time 1015823, (94,151), root:(772,599),
    state 0x0, keycode 115 (keysym 0xffe7, Meta_L), same_screen YES,
    XLookupString gives 0 bytes:
    XmbLookupString gives 0 bytes:
    XFilterEvent returns: False

KeyRelease event, serial 29, synthetic NO, window 0x2a00001,
    root 0xb0, subw 0x0, time 1015946, (94,151), root:(772,599),
    state 0x40, keycode 115 (keysym 0xffe7, Meta_L), same_screen YES,
    XLookupString gives 0 bytes:

My keyboard is set up via gnome keyboard settings and it used to work in xfree86 and previous version of xorg-x11. In gnome keyboard settings i have "Meta is mapped to the left Win-key" in selected options (tab "Layout Options").
