If I execute it by hand, it works, no segfault:

/var/tmp/portage/ksh-93.20040229/work# bin/package read
package: update /var/tmp/portage/ksh-93.20040229/work/bin/execrate

Same problem on gentoo with a 2.6.4 kernel on a p4, emerging from ~x86; another in #gentoo on freenode reported exactly the same segfault :)
Comment 2 Nicholas Jones (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-04-12 15:33:09 UTC
was a sandbox issue. Fixed in portage-2.0.50-r5
