the system is running on VM
Comment 2 Ben Kohler gentoo-dev 2013-06-27 18:48:44 UTC
You have most likely run out of memory, check dmesg for oom-killer messages. Then add more memory or swap.

Please don't CC arches on your own, there is nothing for us to do here.

Hi Ben,
I realized like an idiot that my swap area was off, I'm trying now with the swap on... but how can I configure Gentoo so that at boot it automatically mounts the swap area ?
Comment 5 Ben Kohler gentoo-dev 2013-06-27 19:18:41 UTC
This is covered in the handbook in your fstab setup, stop by and see us on IRC (#gentoo @ freenode) or on the forums (http://forums.gentoo.org) if you need any help with this.
Comment 6 silvio.rispoli.scuola 2013-06-27 19:37:25 UTC
The problem was : not enought memory to compile :)

I suggest developers to allow compilers alert for not enought memory.

Then, you should probably file a bug to gcc's upstream
