Description Marcelo Borges Ribeiro 2004-04-10 09:53:05 UTC
I am running kernel 2.6.5 (from kernel.org) and since 2.6.3 my sound card (ens-1371) stoped working and returned working in 2.6.5 but the sound it produces is far away from a decente sound, is like a white noise that starts when the module loads. I tried an emerge alsa-driver 1.0.4 (over the kernel's) but it also does the same thing. It worked fine in 2.4 and 2.6.0 to 2.6.2.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Install kernel 2.6.5
2.choose alsa sound
3.have an Sb- ens-1371

Actual Results:
very bad sound

Expected Results:
normal sound

2.6.2 had the 0.9.8 drivers, but this problem isn't with gentoo as you experience it with the vanilla kernel using the kernel drivers, etc...

so please file a bug report upstream at: https://bugtrack.alsa-project.org/alsa-bug/

and provide us with a link to it here.

Thanks.

this is an upstream bug that I have no way of reproducing...
