Description Paweł Hajdan, Jr. (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2013-06-22 14:13:30 UTC
Is it OK to stabilize =sys-apps/microcode-data-20130222 ?
If so, please CC all arches which have stable keywords
for older versions of this package and add STABLEREQ keyword
to the bug.

This microcode is specifically for:

"Intel IA32 microcode update data"

There are other devices that have microcode updates available and there will be more...

Should not the package name be updated to be a little more usefully descriptive?...

For example, rename to:

"sys-firmware/intel-ia32-ucode"

to follow the same pattern as is already in place for such as "sys-firmware/amd-ucode"?

Regards,
Martin

(Sorry, should this comment actually be another bug request?)

(In reply to Martin from comment #1)

the microcode package significantly predates all the others. it probably should get renamed, but this bug is not the place for such things. it is only for stabilization and naming is not a regression.
