The Freepascal version avialable on portage is out of date, current versions near 2.0, portage version is 1.0.10

There is no open bug for freepascal 1.0.10 and the ebuild is more than one year old. Maybe you could mark it stable and close this bug?

Doing that now.  I had to update the fpc binary install structure though for #78273.
