Description Greg 2004-04-09 17:24:05 UTC
gnome 2.4/2.6 does not seem to have a method of only having programs open on the main screen. Windows open where ever they want to with no sense of order. I may have evolution open on the main monitor, but a new message window will open on the other monitor. I then have to drag that window over to the main monitor. This does not happen in KDE, in fact kde works perfectly, so my config should be o.k., I think this is a gnome problem. I have to say, I can not use gnome as a result of this, due to it making life hell for me. I now use KDE, but as soon as this is fixed, I will migrate back to gnome. There are others who have had the same problem, with no luck fixing it as well.

Reproducible: Always

Comment 2 foser (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-08-06 11:42:28 UTC
sorry i have no such setup & can't reproduce. If it's really a bug then it should be pushed upstream.
Comment 3 foser (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-08-19 15:52:30 UTC
please post upstream & leave a buglink here, we have no means to test this and it's probably not gentoo specific anyway.
