Description Zoltan Puskas 2013-06-17 19:43:18 UTC
Email is stored on a Dovecot email server. I start editing an email and then save it to "drafts" folder on the IMAP account. When I resume editing the draft email on another computer and send it, the email is sent but not saved to "sent-mail" folder. Both systems are using the same up to date KDE/Kmail combo. I have checked the folder settings, and they are correct for all of my identities.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Edit email in Kmail on computer 1 and save it to IMAP folder (drafts).
2. Continue editing email from drafts folder on computer 2.
3. Send email
Actual Results:
Email sent, but not saved to "sent-mail" folder.

Expected Results:
Save my outgoing mail to the "sent-folder" (which is also located at the IMAP account).

Please report this upstream and link here back.

@Zoltan: is this a regression for you? (from 4.10.3 to 4.10.4)

Honestly, I don't know. I have noticed this in this version. I do not recall having issues with drafts previously. Is there any way I can do some testing, maybe akonadi console?
Comment 4 Johannes Huber (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2013-09-14 19:07:35 UTC
Does this happen with >=kde-base/kmail-4.11.1?
Comment 5 Zoltan Puskas 2013-09-14 19:48:52 UTC
The last test I did was on kde-base/kmail-4.10.5. The problem was present then. What I have found in addition is that the email is actually not lost, but saved to the local sent mail folder instead of the one set in the account settings. So it is a less serious issue, but still not the desired behavior. Did not test with kde-base/kmail-4.11.1 yet. Will try and come back with the results.
Comment 6 Zoltan Puskas 2013-10-16 21:26:29 UTC
I did tests on kmail-4.11.2. The problem is still present. The recalled message is saved to local sent-mail folder instead of configured sent-mail folder on IMAP server.
Comment 7 Zoltan Puskas 2013-10-28 17:25:00 UTC
I have reported it upstream. See:

Comment 8 Johannes Huber (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2014-07-24 15:32:41 UTC
No activity in the upstream bug. I guess they are busy with frameworks migration. So it makes no sense to track this downstream forever. It is not nice but not critical too.
