Description Trey Gruel 2004-04-09 08:16:50 UTC
When installing the gentoo-dev-sources kernel, it gives the following warning:

 IMPORTANT:
ptyfs support has now been dropped from devfs and as a
result you are now required to compile this support into
the kernel. You can do so by enabling the following options
Device Drivers -> Character devices -> Unix98 PTY Support
File systems -> Pseudo filesystems -> /dev/pts filesystem.

However, there is no option for '/dev/pts filesystem' in File systems -> Pseudo filesystems. The closest option is '/dev/pts Extended Attributes'.

I have installed 2.6.4-gentoo-r1 and now 2.6.5-gentoo and run into this issue both times. In both cases, the kernel worked fine without this option, but I don't think this part of the notice should be there.

The messages have been updated to match those in development-sources ebuilds. Thanks :)
