unless the german translation is somehow markedly different from the english version (which it's not supposed to be), it's fine as-is. every author has a different writing style, and there's nothing wrong with this doc. it's not too terse, nor too loose.
I agree with Josh here. This sentence itself provides no useful information to the reader, but serves as an introduction and an explanation for why gentoolkit exists. I, as a reader, really prefer having a few sentences like this one to get an idea of the context instead of justing being bombarded with random facts and wondering e.g. why all of the tools are in a single package. After all, it's an introduction.
