Description Oli Scheit 2004-04-09 03:56:25 UTC
I have a valid license for Win4Lin. (Yes, I pais for that!)
Win4Lin used to work fine.
Then I upgraded from 5.0.4 to 5.0.8, now whenever I try to
start win, I get the message that my license is expired.

When I delete the /var/win4lin/install/license.lic file
and call /opt/win4lin/bin/ask_license.sh and enter my
data again, it says: "all okay, valid license"
But trying to start windows brings up the same message
again, that the license is expired.

After being realy frustrated about all this, I wanted
to downgrade again - which seemed to work out fine,
I got no errors - but now I get this message with 5.0.4
as well.

Any help?
All I want to do is use Win4Lin with my valid license.

regards,
Oli

Well, I finally made it.
Reinstalled 5.0.8,
deleted everything inside /var/win4lin/install
and re-run /opt/win4lin/bin/ask_license.
Entered the data and tried to run win.
Made a /etc/init.d/Win4lin restart

now it works.

Oli
