rpm-4.2.1 has been in portage for a long time and proves stable for me on x86. Furthermore it's the only version working with python-2.3, so it would be nice to have it stable :)

lanius: i don't know what crack you're smoking today, but i've never touched rpm in gentoo, and i refuse to touch it with a VERY long stick even.

I will put this in stable for x86, ppc, sparc (it is already in stable for the other archs) tomorrow unless anyone has any objections, or it is done before then!

I have searched bugzilla for any open bugs and found none.

Aron: As you were last to fix the ebuilds and you are the owner of the bug, are there any other issues you know of?
