I emerged kphotoalbum (successfully) on my (fairly gentoo install). When I ran kphotoalbum I immediately received a GUI box telling me that it needed mplayer to run. It dumped me back at the command line. This is my first bug, but I believe this fits the definition of a dependency.
Please don't add arches yourself.
Odd, the website lists mplayer as a suggested but not required dependency. Could you please give us the exact error message?
Never mind, got it to come up myself. "KPhotoAlbum needs mplayer to extract video thumbnails among other things. Please install the mplayer2 package" Fixed in CVS, added || dep on mplayer2/mplayer (mplayer2 preferred, since kphotoalbum will display a warning if mplayer is installed). Thanks for the report!
