However, I just switched from "-minimal" in firefox 20.x to "minimal" in firefox 21.0. The dangling symlinks * either could have been installed by the firefox 21 upgrade * or could have been leftovers from the firefox 20 installation (not being removed correctly by the upgrade).
As stated earlier no emerge info means no way to duplicate your enviroment. Please post emerge --info to all bug reports.

The three dangling links resulted from an upgrade from a non-minimal to a minimal firefox install: The uninstall of the non-minimal version obviously didn't remove them. After removing them by hand, they didn't re-appear after upgrades to newer versions, so everything's fine.
