Hi! Attached you'll find a new ebuild for aww (Administer WML Websites), which is a frontend to wml (website meta language). The AWW frontend can do a lot more than the standard wmk that comes with wml, and you can easily write modules for aww yourself. Aww is completely written in Perl, therefore I would suggest dev-perl/Aww (but I'm working only several months with gentoo now). If you have any questions about aww, ask me - cause I programmed it myself. Bye, Michael
Created attachment 28878 [details] Aww-0.31.ebuild (New Package)
As there is a new release of Aww out now, the file can be renamed to: Aww-0.32.ebuild. This ebuild was filed two months ago, but nothing happend :-( I really hope it will be accepted soon.
When submitting new ebuilds, please put the package's homepage in the URL field of the report page. This is documented at http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/ebuild-mistakes.xml#doc_chap2 Also, I noticed that you have keyworded the ebuild for "~x86 ~amd64 ~ppc ~sparc ~alpha" - did you really test the ebuild on all these archs? Finally, you should _always_ run repoman over your ebuild before submitting it - please fix your keywords (see repoman output).
Thanx for your answer. I added the homepage in the URL field and checked everything with repoman (I didn't run, when I first made the ebuild). As I didn't tested all the archs, left only ~x86 (which I tested). But I don't think, it shouldn't give many problems on other archs ( ~arch is still testing, isn't it?) I added the new (repoman-checked) ebuild for Aww-0.32

Great! Finally, you should get your ebuild checked by a perl dev: http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/metastructure/herds/herds.xml#doc_chap63 I haven't seen g-cpan used in an ebuild before, so I'm not sure if that is their preferred way. I'm not a dev or a perl user, however, so you're better off asking the devs. I'd advise against using the herd address (perl@gentoo.org), since spam problems have forced some devs to trash all non-bugzilla emails directed to herd addresses. If at all possible, try contacting the devs via IRC, or reassign this bug to perl@gentoo.org
Created attachment 35304 [details] new ebuild for Aww-0.33 This is the new ebuild for Aww (Version 0.33 is out now). I talked with Michael Cummings on #gentoo-dev and applied all proposed changes. This ebuild hopefully works smoothly now.
committed to dev-perl for now. may move once a more appropriate category comes up. Until then, enjoy, thanks for the ebuild!
I just released Version 0.34 of aww - therefore the ebuild-version number should be bumped up. I tested the 0.33 ebuild and everything worked fine. Therefore I attached the tested 'new' ebuild for aww-0.34. I'm not sure if the program should stay in the dev-perl category. The categories: net-misc, www-apps or www-misc could be better. And I hope it is the right thing to reopen this bug instead of making a new one for every new version.

Would actually prefer new bug reports for updates - mostly because when sorting through bugs, older bug id's may get ignored inadvertantly. new version added
