Description Joakim Tjernlund 2013-05-29 08:48:30 UTC
Having an entry in /etc/hosts for your own host name is very
handy, it is always there for own DNS/rDNS lookup.

Would it be possible to extend openresolve to manage /etc/hosts så
that even DHCP based hosts can write an entry there?
Comment 1 Alex Xu (Hello71) 2013-06-01 13:11:23 UTC
This should probably be sent upstream, for whatever that's worth. We don't usually patch packages to add features.
Comment 2 Alon Bar-Lev (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2013-06-01 20:27:33 UTC
I am unsure how manage /etc/hosts relates to manage /etc/resolv.conf sharing at a host.

I believe a solution based on dnsmasq will be much better in this regards.

As comment#1 specified, downstream packagers do not add new features of package, for new features, please contact upstream.

Thanks.
