Description Paul Harradine 2004-04-07 16:57:18 UTC
neither does gift-gnutella. Simple enough to fix if you check the right log files, but from apollon the error message is pretty much "giFT could not start and I don't know why"

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. A simple copy command based on exactly what the giFT log file tells you to do
2.
3.

Actual Results:
It worked perfectly

Expected Results:
The emerge should perhaps perform this step

It is not possible for the ebuild to know which user to create the config file for (or which user would want fasttrack/gnutella support). When you install gift-fasttrack, there should be a message that says:

Alternatively you can add the following line to
your ~/.giFT/gift.conf configuration file:
plugins = OpenFT:FastTrack

This package relies on the user to set up a working configuration should they chose to enable fasttrack/gnutella support. Feel free to reopen this bug should a viable, secure alternative be available.
