Description K. Posern 2004-04-07 16:27:08 UTC
emerge xawtv installed the fonts, I also did an update of the /etc/X11/fs/config file as described in:

Bugzilla Bug 20770
XawTv and tv-fonts, an rc-file needs to be updated.

BUT xawtv does not show fonts...

instead it says on startup:
Warning: Cannot convert string "-*-ledfixed-medium-r-*--39-*-*-*-c-*-*-*-*" to type FontStruct

I use gnome... (dunno if this matters...)

???

Is this a bug or just my fault?

Any help or comments are very appreciated...

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.emerge xawtv
2.xawtv
3.press f (for fullscreen) and then e.g. d (for displaying time)

Actual Results:
font stays ugly and little ;-)

Expected Results:
font should be big and beautiful ;-)

Comment 1 Torsten Veller (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-05-04 04:42:15 UTC
xawtv fonts are installed in /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/xawtv.
Here on my system (xorg-x11) there are only links to /usr/share/fonts in this dir. So i think the fonts will move with the next update of xawtv :)

This should fix your problem:
Add to /etc/X11/xorg.conf (or if you're using xfree: X11.conf)
# FontPath "/usr/share/fonts/xawtv/"
        FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/xawtv/"
Comment 2 Diego Elio Pettenò (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-03-19 16:17:48 UTC
This is due by bug #75271, and fixed in #72141.
Comment 3 Doug Goldstein (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-05-29 17:43:09 UTC
Fixed in CVS.
