google-chrome and probably chromium from some version have started to create log files in the users home directory, for more information see the above attached link of the upstream report

Thanks for the info, but there's really nothing I can do for google-chrome.

Maybe we can backport something for chromium though.

I think I'm just going to wait for M29 rather than backporting this.
