Description jan Novák 2013-05-25 13:59:11 UTC
There is not possible to switch on the kernel options DVB_USB_V2 and DVB_USB_AF9015.
I am not able to switch on these options in my kernel configuration enviroment (make menuconfig). In X-win enviroment (make xconfig) is possible to find these options, but not possible to switch on.
I need these options in my kernel due to have an AVerMedia AVerTV DVB-T Volar X (A815) device.

is there any serious reason for such manners ?

Very thanks

J.Novak

Which kernel version sources do you use?

Now I am using a 3.8.13-gentoo kernel version,
but,
I noticed these manners in kernel 3.1.xx or so, now I am not sure exactly when it was.

You need to enable several options here before menuconfig allows you to reach it.

<M> Multimedia support  --->
  [*]   Digital TV support
    [*]   Media USB Adapters  --->
      <M> Support for various USB DVB devices v2
        <M>     Afatech AF9015 DVB-T USB2.0 support

Maybe options got moved around in menuconfig. This happens a lot and although annoying, it isn't something the Gentoo Linux project can fix for you.

Thank you very much for your piece of advice,
but
i can't remember to view any document to describe it.

Due to my own "research" I found to view (and be enable to configure) your option in .config file (via make menuconfig) is critical to enable an option

   <*> Compile Remote Controller keymap modules

in    <*> Multimedia support  --->

section

if you have not this option anebled, your recomendation has no any efect.

And in the end,
what Gento Linux project fix for me ?

BTW, thanks for your help.
