Description Steven Presser 2013-05-18 15:34:34 UTC
I use bitlbee as a gateway to multiple IM systems. After updating to 3.0.5-r1 (and possibly after an update on google's side?) I found I was unable to connect to google talk/google chat. Rebuilding with USE="gnutls" fixes the issue.

The maintainers of bitlbee recommend the use of gnutls, referring to it as the "only fully-supported ssl library [for bitlbee]". See comment 5 of [1]. Therefore, gnutls should probably be in the default use flags for bitlbee.

Recent versions of bitlbee in the tree default to gnutls.
