Please find attached swaks-20040404.1.ebuild

swaks is "Swiss Army Knife SMTP; Command line SMTP testing, including TLS and AUTH" - a full-featured Perl script for testing SMTP servers.

I suggest net-mail/swaks.

It depends on a number of Perl modules, including an optional ('ssl?') dependency on Net-SSLeay.  All but two (Authen-NTLM and Authen-DigestMD5) are already in portage - the two missing ones will be submitted to bugzilla shortly.

The prereqs are now in portage - any chance this can be added?  It's terribly useful for mail admins...  Thanks.

This was submited 9 months ago - the prereqs are now in portage - can we have this added, pretty-please?  There hasn't been a new release since 20040404.1

Hi Benjamin,

Nothing's been happening upstream with this package for a pretty long while now. If you still think this bug is valid, or I'm just plain wrong (hehe), feel free to reopen.

Hi Tom,

It's not actually a "bug" - just a request for submission to Portage.  Nothing much has happened upstream because the tool has attained enlightenment, and does it's one thing, well =)  Seriously, I think it hasn't changed because nobody's found new bugs or and critically need bits of functionality -- nothing on the TODO list is anything I care about, anyway =).

I still use it constantly (and still manually install it on new Gentoo boxes).  It's a super-useful tool for anyone dealing with mail servers.

Wow, this is a super-useful tool, quite superior to smtptools. Glad to have it in portage. Thanks for the ebuild!
