Description Ernst Sjöstrand 2004-04-06 15:33:11 UTC
When an application tries to connect to the esd daemon it quits (cleanly).
Tried with oss and alsa, and with versions 0.2.32 to 34. As user and as root. Using kernel 2.6.3.

I start it, it sits and wait, and when I do something like esdplay /usr/share/sounds/startup3.wav it quits. esdplay then plays it directly with oss.

Reproducible: Always

Fixed. Was gcc related. Upgrade and recompile of all deps helped.
(Thanks to modprobe on #gentoo-ppc who also had seen the problem!)
