spell? ( =app-text/gtkspell-2.0.2 )" <- this is wrong -> should be spell? ( >=app-text/gtkspell-2.0.2 )"

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.emerge gnugadu with spell support
2.emerge sync (arch=~x86) and emerge -UDp world -> gtkspell 2.0.2 want to update 2.0.4 and then 2.0.4 want to downupgrade 2.0.2 like in a cirle ;]

The dependency is correct - gnugadu will not work with versions > 2.0.2. People from the gnome herd: could we have a slot assigned to gtkspell-2.0.2, so that it would be possible to have both 2.0.2 and 2.0.4 installed?

no, gtkspell cannot be parallel installed. gnugadu should be fixed in this case.

OK, I've just removed gtkspell support from the ebuild for now. We'll have to wait till it's fixed upstream.
