Neither of the 2 rsync mirrors I know of in Australia seem to update anymore: rsync://rsync.au.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage and rsync://mirror.internode.on.net/gentoo-portage Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. eix-sync 2. 3. Expected Results: Portage updates to be fetched from the rsync mirror. I tried these mirrors on other countries, they do not work for me in Australia either. "rsync://ftp.jaist.ac.jp/pub/Linux/Gentoo" "rsync://mirror.mcs.anl.gov/gentoo/" "rsync://rsync.gtlib.gatech.edu/gentoo" "rsync://gentoo.cs.uni.edu/gentoo-distfiles" I think it was while testing the last mirror on that list that all of my files in /usr/local/portage were deleted by the rsync.
The mirrors: rsync://rsync.au.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage rsync://mirror.internode.on.net/gentoo-portage are working now, closing.
