Description Dale K Dicks 2004-04-04 06:01:34 UTC
I used to get 250 K/sec on this server and used it all the time sicne I line in the same city.

It now looks like its bandwidth is locked to below 10 K/sec and quite often they only provide 5K/sec.

It is also out of date so I get errors on emerge sync.

Can they be contacted and/or removed from teh mirror list please?

We will take a look at this mirror for the next couple of days, and contact the administrator if we see any discrepencies or slow speeds.

Thanks!

Thanks Corey, it ihas gotten so bad that I immediately hit ctrl-c now when I see it come up for rsync and i use a different mirror now for merging source code.

Pretty sad for a mirror where I can see the building it originates from out of my window :)

This situation has been taken care of off-bugzilla. Infrastructure appreciates the candid and honest feelings of the admin at ucalgary.ca and would like to thank him for his contribution to Gentoo. Thanks!

For Infrastructure,
Jeffrey

so has the site been removed as an rsync mirror or are they going to uncap to a reasonable pipe size?

The site has been removed from rotation, pending propogation of DNS. The ucalgary.ca mirror is still open for synching to local users who are not subject to ucalgary's out-going pipe restriction.
