Since update to xmms 1.2.10-r1, alsa-xmms-0.9.12 complains about blocking. Both are in the current stable list. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.emerge xmms 2.emerge alsa-xmms 3. Actual Results: # emerge alsa-xmms Calculating dependencies ...done! !!! Error: the >=media-sound/xmms-1.2.8 package conflicts with another package. !!! both can't be installed on the same system together. !!! Please use 'emerge --pretend' to determine blockers. # emerge -pv alsa-xmms These are the packages that I would merge, in order: Calculating dependencies ...done! [blocks B ] >=media-sound/xmms-1.2.8 (from pkg media-plugins/alsa-xmms-0.9.12) [ebuild R ] media-plugins/alsa-xmms-0.9.12 0 k Expected Results: I expected alsa-xmms to emerge. Just for a test I emerged alsa-xmms with "--nodeps". It emerged fine and appears to work perfectly. So now I'm wondering why this depenedency of "!>=media-sound/xmms-1.2.8" is in the alsa-xmms ebuild. It seems like an issue now that both these packages are marked stable. right... that's not a bug. alsa-xmms is included in xmms. Please unmerge alsa-xmms as it will be removed from portage soon.
Ahh, got it. Thanks for the clarification. :)
