When I try to emerge gnome-extra/gnome-utils-2.6.0, I get a error, that a reference isn't defined.

gnome-extra/gnome-utils-2.6.0 depends on gnome-base/gnome-panel-2.6.0
emerge gnome-base/gnome-panel-2.6.0 than gnome-extra/gnome-utils-2.6.0

no, this is a missing library reference. If this actually happened in the source it would error out on another point. This is the result of some up & downgrading between 2.4 & 2.6 versions i believe.

Closing unless you can prove otherwise.
