chromium gdb backtrace.txt

Hi, so I've been trying to debug something but as soon I start chromium with --single-process - it segfaults. I reported this behaviour upstream some time ago (http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=195798) but haven't got much/any attention. This has been happening to me since chromium-25.x (currently happening to me on the 27.x as well).

For example, chromium-27.0.1453.56 compiled with:
CFLAGS="-march=native -O1 -g -ggdb -pipe"
CXXFLAGS="${CFLAGS}"
FEATURES="nostrip splitdebug"

The relevant backtrace:
Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.

Comment 2 Mike Gilbert gentoo-dev 2013-04-19 01:03:17 UTC
It seems to work ok for me with chromium-28.0.1478.0. I don't have debug symbols enabled though.

Just a shot in the dark: try running it with a fresh profile. Just move the ~/.config/chromium directory out of the way and run chromium.
Comment 3 Denis M. (Phr33d0m) 2013-04-19 14:10:26 UTC
Hmm, that seems to make it work... so, some of my extensions seem to be the cause of this?
Comment 4 Mike Gilbert gentoo-dev 2013-04-19 14:13:14 UTC
That could be it; I'm not sure.

Sorry, I don't think we can debug issues like that here (doesn't seem to be a packaging issue). See https://code.google.com/p/chromium/wiki/LinuxDebugging for some more debugging tips on Linux, generally I wouldn't recommend using --single-process.
Comment 6 Denis M. (Phr33d0m) 2013-04-29 18:30:56 UTC
I thought this bug was closed, that's why I didn't close it myself long ago...
Sorry for the trouble and thanks for the info. I've been through that page and yet the most useful and easy debugging for me is using --single-process.
