I just found out /bin/{u,}mount from util-linux-2.22.2 are no longer suid and have been so for almost a month now. This prevents '-o user' in fstab from working. According to bug 425804 this may not be desirable. It's not for me either.:) Reproducible: Always

It's that because you asked for no suid? sys-apps/util-linux-2.22.2 was built with the following: USE="cramfs crypt ncurses nls test udev unicode -ddate -old-linux -perl (-selinux) -slang -static-libs -suid" right there at the end.
