A Gnome Music Player Client.

Music Player Daemon (MPD) allows remote access for playing music (MP3's, Ogg Vorbis files, and FLAC's) and managing playlists. MPD is designed for integrating a computer into a stereo system that provides control for music playback over a local network. It is also makes a great desktop music player, especially if your a console junkie, like frontend options, or restart X often.

See attached ebuild file.

I suggest classification media-sound/gmpc.

This ebuild (and also bumping it so 0.10.2) works for me. Could someone merge in into the portage tree?

more a sound thing.. reassigning

@ the ebuild :

* the RDEP=DEP is not functional, so not needed
* you probably want pkgconfig at least as buildtime dep (DEP)
* it doesn't install any docs (README etc.)

foser: This patch addresses issues you mentioned in your comment. Should be
used against previously attached ebuild (0.10.1)

Also, a version bump to 0.10.2 is suggested.

Just a version bump is needed - 0.10.3 compiles with ebuild submitted here. (renamed to gmpc-0.10.3.ebuild, of course)

ebuild's working time and time again on several systems here, all x86.

both 0.10.2 and 0.10.3

Why are the src_compile() and src_install() function needed? The defaults perform equally well as nothing special needs to be done in them.

The docs could be added by just using a DOCS="AUTHORS COPYING ChangeLog INSTALL NEWS README" line in the ebuild as I did in Bug #47606 , dodoc doesn't seem necessary to me.
