Description silver_ghost 2013-04-16 22:59:46 UTC
Quote from installation guide:
On some systems, Mono's clipboard routines don't work properly. In this case, install the xsel package. If xsel is installed, KeePass ≥ 2.20 uses this utility for clipboard operations.

Reproducible: Always

Do you actually have problems without xsel or is this just a notification?
Which mono version are you using?
Do you have a more specific reference to the problem? Upstream (Mono/KeePass) bug report?

I have no problems using copy & paste, and I don't have xsel installed.

Thanks.

Ping.

I've been using xsel for quite some time and I'm pretty unhappy: it slows down the copy operation of several seconds.

Michael: can you reproduce this problem? If you do I can investigate a bit what might be the problem or maybe we could suggest in the post-install notes _not_ to use it.

I didn't notice anything unusual after installing xsel and trying copy/paste operations in/out of keepass.

Same problem here: I was unable to use an already pasted to clipboard entry until x11-misc/xsel was installed(kde 4.12.5, keepass-2.27, mono-2.10.9-r2).

the package should depend on it, without xsel installed keepass it's barely usable (at least for kde users)

The dependency wasn't added already due to comment #3 and because it's difficult to reproduce (had no luck yet and I do use kde)

Michael, it's a mono related problem and as reported on the official installation guide *it may happen*, anyway no one knows why it happens and how reproduce this issue.
Please consider at least to add a note in pkg_postinst(), thanks

I added the following message in keepass-2.28:

Some systems may experience issues with copy and paste operations.
If you encounter this, please install x11-misc/xsel.
